Stubborn on the Issue of Wearing Mules
Re “Walk a Mile in Whose Shoes?” (Feb. 21): As a prerequisite to writing an article on women’s shoes, Al Martinez should have been forced to wear a pair of mules for a day.
He would have soon realized that one need not be a radical feminist to recognize the discomfort and instability in footing associated with the wearing of these shoes. It is an insult that women who show concern with an article of clothing that impairs their ability to function comfortably are branded as “feminist guerrillas.”
