From Associated Press

For 24 minutes Monday night, it looked as if the Detroit Pistons still hadn’t recovered from the slump that caused Saturday’s 99-90 home loss to the New Jersey Nets.

Detroit trailed the smaller, quicker Washington Bullets by as many as 15 points in the first half.

But in the second half, the Pistons switched to an inside attack and posted a 99-89 victory over the slumping Bullets at Auburn Hills, Mich.

Washington’s Pervis Ellison led all scorers with 25, but failed score in the fourth quarter.

Golden State 118, Sacramento 98--Tim Hardaway scored 29 points to lead the Warriors at Sacramento, as they snapped a two-game losing streak. Billy Owens, whom the Warriors acquired from the Kings for Mitch Richmond earlier this season, added 21 points.

Spud Webb scored 25 points for Sacramento, and Richmond had 19.
