Say ‘Elm’ When in Carlsbad
North County Focus recently featured a beautiful color picture of Craig Bauer of Carlsbad and his personal license plate frame bearing the slogan, “Locals Say Elm.” Craig did indeed get together with his friends and had several dozen license plate frames made (I myself am a proud owner of one), but Craig is unaware of the original author of this local saying, therefore he was unable to give credit where credit is due.
“Locals Say Elm” is a product of Carlsbad loco resident Carletta Chadwell, who originally printed this slogan on her personal computer and distributed several dozen copies around town to local friends. We are just a bunch of Carlsbad locos who love their town the way it is.
Glad to see it take off, Etta!
