NBC News: The gavel has fallen on “Night Court.” NBC says the popular show, headlined by Harry Anderson, John Larroquette and Richard Moll, won’t be back for a 10th season in the fall. The move is in line with the network’s present strategy to retire veteran series in favor of new, less costly ones. “In the Heat of the Night” and “Matlock” already have been retired. . . . Meanwhile, the network is staffing up for its new news magazine, “Dateline NBC.” Arthur Kent, based in Rome, will contribute international segments, and Deborah Roberts, now in Atlanta, will relocate to New York to be a reporter for the show. Jane Pauley and Stone Phillips will anchor “Dateline” which arrives March 31.
