O Solo Mio: Alan August, a computer consultant from Los Angeles, has been named L.A.’s greatest unknown tenor. August won Saturday’s tenor contest, competing against 50 other local crooners in a contest co-sponsored by KUSC-FM (91.5) and “Lend Me a Tenor,” the comedy now at the Henry Fonda Theatre. August’s award-winning aria can be heard on KUSC this week. Contest judges included L.A. Music Center Opera’s Marvalee Cariaga and Peggy Pope from the “Lend Me a Tenor” cast.
