Oops, Forgot the Tip Thing! Bush Pays Up
A waiter who served President Bush and his wife, Barbara, has received a belated but generous tip from them.
The Bushes dined Friday at Skopelos Seafood & Steak Restaurant during a campaign stop here. The restaurant picked up the tab for their meal, and the President left without tipping the waiter, the Pensacola News Journal reported Saturday.
After learning of the omission, Bush had Secret Service agents deliver the tip and handwritten notes to the restaurant’s owners.
“(The tip) was generous,” said co-owner Gus P. Silivos. “He said his staff usually takes care of the bill and the tip, but since there was no bill, they just forgot the tip. He felt bad about it.”
