Surgery for Auger: Celebrated diva Arleen Auger, 52, has undergone surgery to remove a malignant brain tumor. Her press representative reports her in excellent spirits, with a prognosis for a recovery time of three to six months. The Los Angeles native made her debut in 1967 as the Queen of the Night for the Vienna Staatsoper. She has made more than 100 recordings, and was the Countess in Music Center Opera’s 1990 “Nozze di Figaro.”
