Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding confronted another woman near Clackamas, Ore., and had a baseball bat in her hands when police arrived on the scene, authorities said.

They gave this account:

Harding pulled up her pickup truck behind another motorist, Kay Brooks, who was stopped at a red light and waiting to make a right turn. Harding honked her horn, and after turning, both drivers stopped and began arguing.

Portland television station KGW quoted an unidentified passenger in Harding’s truck as saying that Brooks punched Harding and that Harding punched back, breaking Brooks’ glasses.
