Real Estate Guru Vu Sued: Darlene Hara, a 23-year-old Castroville, Calif., strawberry farmer who said she paid $44,000 to attend seminars offered by controversial TV real estate guru Tom Vu, has filed a class-action suit against Vu and his two Longwood, Fla.-based seminar businesses. The suit alleges that Vu and his companies “employed manipulative and deceptive devices . . . to defraud” her and thousands of others out of an estimated $100 million. Vu could not be reached for comment. His lawyer, Richard S. Wheeler, said it was “premature for us to make a comment” since he had not received a copy of the suit filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.
