PLATFORM : That’s Racist, Too

The court was correct. To judge people according to the voluntary association of which they are a member is dangerously close to racist behavior itself.

The person who scrawled “F --- Jews,” “Hi Hitler” and giant swastikas in Cal State Northridge classrooms at the beginning of Jewish Awareness Week is obviously an anti-Semite. When he is arrested, he should be prosecuted not for his attitude but for defacing and damaging public property.

My work on the college campus is to encourage affirmative behavior in a multicultural society. I want the students with whom I work to learn about their own culture and that of others. I want the behavior of all students to be rooted in positive cultural experience. Racism will have no place in a society of self-esteem and mutual respect.
