Pugilistic Advice

I’ve watched Fruit of the Loom-sponsored boxing the last two Saturdays on ABC (Feb. 8, 15), and can’t decide which is worse, the decisions or the announcers.

Dan Dierdorf is terrible on Monday Night Football (ABC), but he tops that by being horrendous as a fight announcer. As for the decisions, the officials seem to have their minds made up before the fight starts on who the winner is. A suggestion: The judges sit in the front row at ringside, the worse seats in the house. Move them up to the 10th row so they get a better perspective. The decisions couldn’t be any more absurd.
