Buffalo’s a Better Bet Than Washington

I realize Art Buchwald’s article “A Bad Time to Reside in the Nation’s Capital” (March 3) was supposed to be funny, but he did ask a serious question: “Would you rather have the citizens of Buffalo run your lives than the people of Washington?”

I had to think about that one a while. Of course I would prefer that I ran my life, but that seems out of the question. So, looking at this as a second choice, I came to realize that it would be almost impossible for anyone to do worse (than the people of Washington). That being true, any change would have to be for the better.

I guess I’d have to vote for the citizens of Buffalo.
