CYPRESS : City OKs Addition of Cable Channels

Share

The City Council last week agreed to allow Copley Colony Cablevision, the city’s cable provider, to add seven more channels to its lineup.

After several months of talks, the council agreed to amend its original contract with the cable operator to expand offerings beyond the current 64 channels.

Copley Colony is in the process of polling residents to see what kind of additional services they want. Copley officials have indicated that they are considering installing a pay-per-view channel, but a formal decision has not been made.

Under terms of the agreement approved last week, the cable company must make public the results of the survey before the new channels are installed.

It is also required to bring the issue before the council to give residents another chance to comment.
