Pasadena : Rose Bowl Concert OKd

With Guns N’ Roses and Metallica still waiting in the wings, the City Council gave Rose Bowl administrators the go-ahead Tuesday to negotiate for a June 27 rock concert starring The Cure.
The council unanimously approved a one-day suspension of noise restrictions and an extension of a curfew on stadium activities from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., enabling the Rose Bowl to reach an agreement with Avalon Attractions, which is promoting the appearance by the angst-driven English band.
Another Avalon concert proposal--involving consecutive nights of Guns N’ Roses and Metallica in July or August--is still up in the air, said Bridget Schinnerer, Rose Bowl acting program coordinator.
Residential neighbors have objected to adding noisy events to the 101,000-seat Rose Bowl’s schedule.
