X-Rays Show Defenseman Coffey Has Minor Break in Right Wrist

X-rays taken Wednesday revealed that defenseman Paul Coffey of the Kings suffered a minor break in his right wrist in Tuesday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.

He is listed as day to day, but the Kings won’t consider putting him back into the lineup until he is able to function effectively with the playing cast he is now wearing.

“We won’t make any decisions until we see how well he can shoot the puck,” Coach Tom Webster said.

Coffey was injured in the third period of Tuesday night’s game when a puck smashed into his wrist as he tried to block a Jet shot.

Coffey came to the Kings a month ago as part of a three-team trade. But he arrived with a back problem that forced him to miss six games with his new team.
