WOODLAND HILLS : Ex-Head of College Takes New Position
- Share via
Daniel Means, the former president of Pierce College in Woodland Hills, is the new part-time executive director of the Los Angeles Community College District Administrators Assn.
Means, 62, was a veteran administrator in the district when he became president of Pierce in 1989.
He left two years later in the midst of a budget crisis and community protests over the scaling down of the school’s agricultural department.
Before taking the job at Pierce, Means had worked 12 years as the district’s lead negotiator in contract talks with the faculty union.
Means said the administrators association represents the views of its 150 or so members on district issues. Administrators are considered management employees and do not have bargaining rights in the district, he said.
