Oakland Athletic slugger Jose Canseco and prosecutors in Miami reached a tentative agreement in his aggravated assault case, lawyers said in court after Canseco had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Terms of the agreement were not made public, but it could prevent the assault case from going to trial, prosecutor Margaret Rosenbaum said.
Police arrested Canseco for aggravated battery Feb. 13 after a heated early morning argument in which he rammed his Porsche into his wife’s BMW twice, then got out and spit on her car window.
