Child-Stealing Case
We are thrilled with the “not guilty” verdict in Nancy Hogan’s child-stealing case. Nancy is one of the very few protective parents whose actions to protect their molested children have been vindicated by our legal system.
Nancy’s success was the result of her unwavering commitment to her daughter’s well-being and the assistance of a handful of people who made the winning difference in this one.
To Peggy Reali and Kerry Steigerwalt, Nancy’s attorneys: Three cheers for their dogged pursuit of justice in this case. Despite the unreasonable restrictions placed upon their defense, they managed to get just enough of Nancy’s compelling story to the jury. And the jury made a truly just decision.
To Alan Abrahamson: Our appreciation for his fair and thoughtful reporting, which made the community aware of a case that cried for public attention.
To the community: Our thanks for reaching out to Nancy and sharing your hope when she had lost her own.
And last and certainly least, to the district attorney’s office: A resounding Bronx cheer for pursuing this unreasonable case with a hostility and prejudice unbefitting a public office.
