Mansell Wins Second Grand Prix in a Row
Britain’s Nigel Mansell won the Mexican Grand Prix in Mexico City, beating his Williams-Renault teammate Ricardo Patrese of Italy.
It was Mansell’s second victory in two Grand Prix races this season. Mansell averaged 123.762 m.p.h. for 69 laps.
Michel Schumacher of Germany was third. He was followed by Gerhard Berger of Austria and Andrea de Cesaris of Italy.
World champion Ayrton Senna’s McLaren broke down as he was coming off a curve, forcing the Brazilian to drop out during the 11th lap. Senna had crashed during Friday’s qualifying, severely bruising his left leg.
