Stephen F. Austin Moves Ahead With 75-74 Victory over Creighton
Lynn Corn made a follow shot with two seconds left to give No. 4 Stephen F. Austin a 75-74 victory over No. 21 Creighton Sunday in the second round of the NCAA West Regional.
Creighton (28-4) tied the score at 73-73 when Kathy Halligan made a layup and was fouled with 10 seconds left. Halligan, who finished with 19 points, made the free throw to put Creighton up by one.
After two timeouts, Stacy Hairgrove missed a layup. Corn rebounded and put in the game-winner.
Lori Davis led the Lady Lumberjacks (28-2) with 22 points. Kris Kugel led Creighton with 21 points and seven rebounds.
Stephen F. Austin will play USC Thursday night in Seattle.
