Doubts Raised About Nestle’s Perrier Bid: A day after Nestle was declared the victor in the battle for mineral water giant Source Perrier, the European body that has the power to scuttle the deal said it had serious doubts about the combination. The 17-member European Commission, executive arm of the European Community, said it is launching an inquiry into the proposed acquisition to determine whether the combination would limit free trade.
