H. Ross Perot

With all due to respect to a distinguished American, Perot’s potential independent presidential candidacy bid seems wildly quixotic.
While no one would dispute his proven managerial and organizational skills, the ultimate result of his last-minute candidacy would be to aggravate an already intolerable governmental situation of a split-party government. If he were successful, instead of one opposition party in Congress bickering with the President, there would be two!
The solution to the on-going embarrassing federal paralysis is the installment of a line-item veto for the President. Only then could the President break through the silliness that passes for leadership inside the Beltway.
The line-item veto would be an efficient tool for whichever party wins the White House in November.
We citizens deserve leadership, not this childish political pettiness.
