Companies Expect Rise in Profits Over Next 6 Months: Japanese companies expect their profits to recover in the next six months, according to a survey released last week by the Finance Ministry. Last month’s survey of nearly 10,000 companies indicated pretax profits would decline about 6.7% in the October-March period from a year earlier. But profits would rise 1.9% from April to September.
