Bantamweight Title on the Line at Forum
Victor Rabanales of Mexico City and Lee Yong-Hoon of Korea will box in a scheduled 12-round fight tonight at the Forum for the vacant World Boxing Council bantamweight championship.
Rabanales is 29-10-1, Lee 20-0.
The championship became vacant when Japan’s Joichiro Tatsuyoshi relinquished it after suffering an eye injury.
Also tonight, in the final of the Forum’s super-flyweight tournament, Armando Castro (33-10-1) will box Esteban Ayala (15-4-1) for the weight-class title. Castro has won nine of his last 10 bouts, Ayala his last 10 in a row. Both are from Mexico City.
