Judy’s Inc. Hires Financial Adviser

Judy’s Inc., a Van Nuys-based apparel retailer that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy court protection in February, has hired a financial adviser to study alternatives for the company’s Ghq and Judy’s divisions.

Ghq is a chain of 36 young men’s apparel stores. Judy’s is a chain of 68 stores selling young women’s apparel.

The financial adviser, Los Angeles-based Chanin & Co., is also an adviser to Carter Hawley Hale, the Los Angeles parent of the Broadway department-store chain that filed for bankruptcy court protection in 1990.
