VALLEYWIDE : Agency Wins Grant to Fight Alcoholism
Pueblo Y Salud Inc., a northeast San Fernando Valley social service agency, has received a $90,000 grant to help combat alcoholism in the Latino community.
The grant includes $60,000 from federal grant funds controlled by Supervisor Ed Edelman’s office and $30,000 in matching funds from the state Office of Alcohol Programs.
It will help Pueblo Y Salud develop broadcast media policies for liquor advertising in the Latino community.
Edelman said he hoped the agency would be able “to encourage the media, advertisers and producers to market their wares in a socially responsible way.”
