Child Abuse Cases

Share

As an attorney who is involved in representing victims of child-sexual abuse in civil actions for damages, I read with interest Gloria Allred’s article, “Should the Calendar Protect Molesters?” (Commentary, March 24).

While I agree with Allred’s basic contention that there should not be a statute of limitations for sexual abuse victims, I do not believe it is solely a “feminist” issue.

The problem of childhood sexual abuse crosses gender, race, economic and social-standing lines. While the majority of the reported victims are female, it would be in error to think of the problem solely along feminist lines. To solve the problem will require the involvement of everyone.
