UCLA Gives Billie Moore an Extension
Billie Moore, who recently concluded her 15th season as coach of the UCLA women’s basketball team, on Wednesday signed a three-year contract extension, the school announced.
Moore, whose Bruins reached the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament for the first time since 1984-85, is one of eight female coaches with more than 400 victories. Her UCLA team won the national championship in 1978 and her Cal State Fullerton team won the Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women title in 1970.
UCLA finished 21-10 this season, losing in the Midwest Regional semifinals to Southwest Missouri State, 83-57.
