An Anaheim man was sentenced to 16 months in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to taking part in a $100,000 embezzlement scheme against health-care company FHP Inc.

Jack Ogle pleaded guilty to one count each of grand theft and conspiracy in Municipal Court in Westminster. Fountain Valley police said at the time of his arrest in January that Ogle was one of five people who conspired to file fraudulent medical claims.

Carla Corley, 31, of Anaheim, a former FHP customer service representative, pleaded guilty on March 21 to charges that she bilked FHP of more than $100,000 between December, 1988, and July, 1991 by ordering that checks be drafted for bogus medical claims. She is free on $50,000 bail and faces sentencing on June 12.

Corley also wrote the checks to Ogle’s wife, Kelly, and Elizabeth Webber of San Bernardino. Kelly Ogle and Webber pleaded guilty to grand theft and conspiracy charges last month. They are scheduled to be sentenced in June.

Webber’s husband, Randy, is serving a 16-month prison term after pleading guilty to similar charges.

FHP, based in Fountain Valley, is a provider of managed-care health services.
