THOUSAND OAKS : Meeting Planned to Discuss New County
- Share via
A Thousand Oaks research group will hold a town meeting Thursday to discuss whether cities in the eastern end of Ventura County and western Los Angeles County should form a new county.
The Conejo Future Foundation will hold the forum, titled “Calabasas to Newbury Park, A New County?” at 7:15 p.m. at Southern California Edison’s offices at 3589 Foothill Drive, Westlake Village.
Seven speakers will discuss a range of topics, including present political boundaries, forming a new county or moving the county line, and abolishing counties altogether.
The forum is part of a study undertaken by the Vision 2020 steering committee, a group appointed by the foundation to examine issues that will affect the region over the next 30 years.
Residents’ views will be included in a report to be released by the foundation in June.
