SAN DIEGO : Robbers Strike Fast-Food Eateries

Four fast-food restaurants were robbed over a seven-hour period Sunday night and early Monday, San Diego police said.

The first holdup occurred at 8:19 p.m. Sunday, when a man brandishing a small silver handgun held up a Pizza Hut at 9888 Carmel Mountain Road in Rancho Penasquitos and took about $200 before fleeing in a dark compact car, Lt. Jerry Moody said.

The robber was described as Latino, 5-foot-8, 150 pounds with a light mustache and wearing a dark baseball cap, Moody said.

About an hour later, a man of the same description robbed a Little Caesar’s at 4310 Genesee Ave. in Clairemont, and took an undisclosed amount of money before escaping in a dark-colored Volkswagen hatchback, Moody said.

At 11:35 p.m., two men wearing black ski masks held up a Del Taco at 3896 Balboa Ave. in Clairemont, Moody said. They took an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot, Moody said. They were described as Asians, both about 5-foot-9 and 17 to 20 years old, he said.

Then, at 2:51 a.m. Monday, two men of the same description, one brandishing a revolver, robbed an Alberto’s Mexican restaurant at 6926 Miramar Road in Miramar. The men fired one shot outside the restaurant and fled on foot, taking an undisclosed amount of money, Moody said.
