Ethiopian Province to Vote on Independence

NAIROBI, Kenya —
Eritreans will vote by April, 1993, on whether their region should declare independence from Ethiopia, an official Eritrean radio station said Wednesday.
Independence for Eritrea, Ethiopia’s northernmost province along the Red Sea, would leave Ethiopia landlocked.
