Anti-Porn Bill

Share

The Times published an editorial (“Unsupported by Evidence,” March 26) regarding an anti-pornography bill now pending in the U.S. Senate. The editorial states that “violent sexual crimes against women and children often are portrayed on screen and print.” However, the editorial sees no connection between these depictions and the rising rate of violent sexual crimes against women and children. Actually there is an overwhelming amount of scientific evidence that these depictions do cause individuals to act out violent sexual crimes.

As the president of Save Our Children National Alliance, I have compiled much of this evidence and published it in a book entitled “Save Our Children.”

You have indicated that the Senate bill would “profoundly chill dramatic expression of all sorts.” Actually it would only chill the expression of violent sexual acts against women and children. I will do all in my power to help this bill be passed.
