Police Say Man Found Slain Was Victim of Bar Brawl; 1 Arrested
A Los Angeles man whose body was found near Mulholland Drive and Topanga Canyon Boulevard was the victim of a bar brawl, according to Los Angeles police, who have arrested one of three suspects in the killing.
Ventura Salas, 37, of Los Angeles was being held in County Jail on suspicion of murder, Detective Rick Swanston said Friday. Swanston said detectives were still searching for two others believed to have helped Salas beat and shoot the victim, Hernan Guillermo Hinestrosa, 33, of Los Angeles.
The body of Hinestrosa, who was shot several times in the head with a handgun, was found by a woman walking her dog the morning of March 29.
Swanston said Hinestrosa had been driven to the Woodland Hills site the night before and shot there after getting into a drunken argument with Salas and two other men at Lupita’s Bar in Los Angeles.
