JAMUL : Prosecutor Seeking Life Term in Killing

Share

Special circumstances allegations were filed Friday against a Jamul man that accuse him of killing his wife in 1987 for financial gain.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Jeff Dusek announced that he will seek a life sentence without the possibility of parole for Leonard Eddington II, 44, if he is convicted of first-degree murder.

Eddington pleaded not guilty before San Diego Superior Court Judge Frederic L. Link, who scheduled a Sept. 9 trial date. Link denied a request to lower bail from $3 million.

The body of Vickie Eddington, 29, was unearthed Dec. 21, 1991, behind her house in Jamul. She was last seen alive July 30, 1987, and her car was discovered with a flat tire some miles away.
