Nation IN BRIEF : NEW YORK : Lee Oswald’s Body Tag Sold at Auction
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A body tag from Lee Harvey Oswald, assassin of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, sold at auction for $6,600, New York auctioneer Herman Darvick said. Anthony Pugliese, who also bought the gun Jack Ruby used to kill Oswald, bought the body tag along with a bloodied lock of Oswald’s hair that came with it, as well as the hat and shoes Ruby wore during the shooting. Darvick said the body tag was taken by an ambulance attendant who drove Oswald’s body from the Dallas hospital to a funeral home.
