BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJOR LEAGUES : Ryan Isn’t Worried About Injuries
The Texas Rangers’ Nolan Ryan, on the 15-day disabled list because of sore legs, said he doesn’t think the end of his career is near.
“I think the people’s attitude is because of my age, any time something happens, I think people look for that to be the injury that finishes me off,” said Ryan, in his 26th major league season. “And I look at it from the standpoint that it’s more of a nagging, nuisance-type thing.”
Pitcher Jose DeJesus of the Philadelphia Phillies, believed to have a torn rotator cuff, will be examined Thursday in Los Angeles by orthopedic surgeon Frank Jobe.
