Are Freebies for Council Justified or Mickey Mouse?

With so many problems facing our county, how terrible it is that some Anaheim officials obtained tickets for visitors from other cities and on occasion a friend. Give me a break, not one of the individuals you take aim at can be bought. These are people who have given Anaheim outstanding leadership.

For it to be made into such a big deal just shows me you and those like you need to look into the real problems our area has. Why does Caltrans need to close major freeways and access roads and ramps for so long? Why have we not made use of the old red car access lines to do something about our traffic? Why are so many frivolous lawsuits allowed to be filed with so much money spent to try to defend them when they really shouldn’t have been filed in the first place? Why not editorials about low-paid teachers and law enforcement/firefighters who are also underpaid? The list goes on and on.

Disneyland has brought so much to Orange County, and with their expansion plans, will add so much more. Sure, there are major decisions to be made, but these decisions will be made by Anaheim city officials who have one thing in mind: what is best for the city, not what’s best for Fred Hunter, Irv Pickler, Bob Simpson, etc.

If these folks had received a major gift, that would be a different story, but tickets to the Magic Kingdom (that in the most part were used by others and many from sister cities, visiting officials from other cities, etc.). Give us a break! I don’t like to insult the park mascot, but isn’t this a little Mickey Mouse?
