SCHROON LAKE, N.Y. —
A tour bus carrying students and chaperones from a field trip slid off a slush-covered highway Saturday in the Adirondack Mountains, police said. Two students were killed.
The students, from Woodland Junior High School in East Meadow, N.Y., were returning from a two-day visit to Montreal when the bus went off the shoulder of the Adirondack Northway, a state trooper said.
Three people, including the bus driver, were hospitalized with severe cuts, and 26 other passengers also received treatment, officials said.
