FileNet Earnings: Aided by strong international sales, FileNet Corp. in Costa Mesa, a maker of computerized document processing systems, expects to report a 25% increase in first-quarter earnings for the period ended April 5.

Mark St. Clare, senior vice president of finance, estimated net income at $2 million, equal to 18 cents per share, compared to $1.6 million, or 15 cents per share, a year earlier. Revenue is expected to rise 26% to $34.2 million, up from $27.1 million a year earlier.

St. Clare said that half of the 28 computer systems that the company sold during the quarter were to international customers, about double the number sold overseas in the first quarter a year earlier. Domestic sales grew about 8%, mostly to customers in the insurance industry.
