FILLMORE : Council to Choose Project Architects

Share

The Fillmore City Council is expected tonight to choose the architects who will design a commercial and tourist complex that officials hope will revitalize the city’s downtown business district.

The complex is to be situated on 13 acres of Southern Pacific Railroad right of way that runs through town.

The council is also expected to choose a second firm to rewrite zoning and design guidelines for the downtown area.

The council sought bids on the projects in January and has narrowed the field to four firms. Urban Design Studio of Newport Beach and Mainstreet Architects of Ventura are bidding to create the downtown zoning guidelines, and Sasaki Associates and Turrini & Brink, both of Santa Ana, are competing for the job to design the complex.
