BASEBALL: DAILY REPORT : ANGELS : Sore Left Hip Sidelines Langston

Share

Mark Langston will miss his scheduled turn Friday at Kansas City because of a sore left hip. Scott Lewis, who replaced Chuck Finley the first time through the rotation, will substitute for Langston Friday.

“He (Langston) is kind of like Finley right now: if there’s any doubt we’re going to skip him,” Manager Buck Rodgers said of Langston. “If he’s 100% going into Oakland, we’ll go with him. If not, we’ll skip him.”

Langston aggravated his hip on Sunday and had to leave after five innings. He worked out Tuesday in Texas but won’t throw for several days. “It’s feeling better but it’s still a little sore,” he said.
