Tandy to Open Super Stores: Tandy Corp. plans to introduce mall-sized stores this fall that will give more customers the chance to try its consumer electronics, appliances and computers. Tandy is the parent company of Radio Shack, with more than 7,000 company-owned and franchised stores nationwide. The firm, based in Ft. Worth, Tex., plans to open the first stores near Portland, Ore., and Arlington, Tex. The stores, with 100,000 square feet of selling space, will include child care facilities and a restaurant and employ 300 people at each location.
