Sierra Madre : Jameson Subdivision OKd

Share

The City Council has approved a subdivision of the historic Jameson Estate.

The 10-lot subdivision plan, previously approved by Sierra Madre’s Cultural Heritage Assn., requires that the Jameson Trust preserve the Jameson House and two other structures as historic landmarks. New houses will be allowed on six lots and one is reserved for open space.

The plan includes creation of Ida May Lane, a street with a cul-de-sac. The street will begin off the west side of Jameson Court on land situated north of the Jameson House, at 418 Highland Ave.

About 10 residents of Laurel Avenue went to Tuesday’s meeting to protest the possibility of Laurel becoming a through street to Ida May Lane. Mayor Roy Buchan assured them that no such plan was being considered.
