Cal State L.A. Alumna Wins Award of Merit
Victoria M. Castro of Alhambra has received the Cal State Los Angeles Alumni Award of Merit, which is presented to individuals who have given distinguished service to the university and have assisted it in achieving its goals.
Castro, principal of Belvedere Junior High School in Los Angeles, is a 1973 graduate of Cal State Los Angeles.
She is a past president of the Assn. of Mexican-American Educators and is president of the organization of Los Angeles Unified School District Junior High School Principals.
She also chairs the board of directors of Azteca Headstart programs.
