Arcadia : Fasching Takes Mayor’s Job
Outgoing Mayor Charles E. Gilb on Tuesday passed the gavel to Councilman George Fasching.
Fasching, 63, has been on the council two years. He will serve a one-year stint as mayor.
Joseph C. Ciraulo, 56, was appointed mayor pro tem. He was elected to the council two years ago.
Gilb, 67, a Los Angeles produce broker, has been mayor four times during his 16 years on the council. Gilb was prohibited from seeking reelection April 14 because he had served two consecutive terms, the maximum allowed by the City Charter.
