Tampa Bay Lightning officials, who announced earlier this year that the team would play its first NHL season in St. Petersburg’s Florida Suncoast Dome, changed their minds and signed a lease making the Florida State Fairgrounds Expo Hall in Tampa its home for at least two seasons before moving into the proposed Tampa Coliseum.

Team officials said they feared problems with the ice in the spacious Suncoast Dome.
