RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE : L.A. Woman Wins $150,000 House in Promotion by William Lyon Co.

A Los Angeles woman, Guillermina Andersen, won the William Lyon Co.’s $150,000 new home drawing Saturday. The three-month sweepstakes contest was a marketing tool that served the company well--more than 40,000 entries were collected at the 30 participating Lyon Co. developments in Southern California.

Because entrants had to visit models in at least four separate developments, the contest generated a considerable amount of exposure for the Newport Beach home builder.

As winners of the grand prize drawing, Andersen and her husband, Conrad, are eligible to select any Lyon home or condominium in the participating developments.

They can move in free if the market value of the home, including closing costs and escrow fees, is $150,000 or less.

Or, if they select a home priced at more than $150,000, the grand award can be used as a credit toward the purchase price.
