Back in the Saddle: Re-establishing a relationship that began in 1935, singing cowboy Roy Rogers and Republic Pictures Corp. announced an agreement Monday to develop an animated television series and feature film. A fictional Rogers-like character, reminiscent of the films of the ‘40s, will be the focus of the feature film, and a Saturday morning animated series is being developed for Fox Broadcasting Co. Rogers starred in 88 Westerns during a rapid rise to stardom at Republic Pictures in the 1930s and 1940s.
