Perot’s Candidacy

Share

In response to “Perot Supporters Make Progress in Ballot Drive,” April 19:

I am appalled at the thought that perhaps the only man in this country who is ready, willing and able to tackle our fundamental financial woes, could be buried by red tape in the election codes of a few states.

We are living in what is supposed to be a democracy, so George Bush and the New York GOP, let us at least have the chance to vote for someone who can and will do something about this country’s intrinsic problems.

The rest of our political candidates are so intent on destroying each other’s campaigns with smear tactics that they have lost sight of what running the country is all about.

If they are also able to destroy Ross Perot’s chances with legal technicalities instead of standing up and fighting fair with a decent opponent, then I wonder what the whole point of this particular democracy can be. Let the people decide--isn’t that what an election is all about?
